In 1980 Jeanne spotted an ad in the newspaper for an oil painting class in a local hobby shop. She signed up on a whim and thus began what is now a passion in her life. She soon discovered a hidden talent that was nurtured and encouraged by her teacher. She continued to explore her new found talent when the workshop ended.
In 1991 Jeanne went to the South of France with a select group of fellow artists hand picked by their teacher. There she was inspired further by visits to Renoir's home studio and the site in Narles where Van Gogh spent his final years. Jeanne experimented in various media, finding her true artistic voice in watercolor. She returned to France in 1999. This trip included the Louvre in Paris and Monet's house in Giverny.
Since then Jeanne has continued to take classes as well as individual instruction. Her forte is in flowers and natural outdoor scenic views. Her work is wonderfully colorful and detailed, real but better than reality.
Jeanne has used her talent well, not only enjoyed by friends and family, but by providing support to many charitable organizations. Each year she donates a painting to Aldea Youth Division, among others, where her work receives high bids.
She also spent two years volunteering as an Art Therapy instructor for "Boys at Risk" through the local school district.
Professional work includes:

Currently Jeanne is selling her work at Artists of the Valley, 1307 First Street, Napa CA and at art festivals She has accepted two offers to showcase her work at Napa Valley establishments.
Jeanne continues to attend classes and workshops as well as being part of an artists group that meets once a week to paint and discuss their explorations and dreams while making the best of them come true.
